The Culture of Driving in Canada

Yesterday I had to drive to Midland, Ontario, a small town 2 hours north of Toronto. This is not the first time I drive Canadian highways to the country, but yesterday I more consciously reflected on how different it is from driving in Mexico. The geography is so different, that it forces there to be a culture for drivers.

Ontario is a very flat place, so when you drive, you get a very weird feeling of things repeating over and over again and the road seems neverending. It can get so… Continue

Dual Citizenship, When Is It Your Right And When Are You Taking Advantage Of It?

Worldwide Holidays

This is a new project I would like you all to participate in.

Everyday, I will post the holidays celebrated in different countries hoping that someone from each of those countries leaves a comment sharing how they celebrate it (what they dom what they eat, etc).

The idea is to have, at the end of the year, a multicultural journal of holidays. Imagine how all these shared customs can be used in intercultural training! It will definitely help raise cross-cultural awareness and understanding between people from different countries.

Please participate sharing your own celebrations and inviting other people to participate. Just go to the "events" tab and click on the actual holiday, there will be a box at the bottom for you to leave a comment (you have to be a member of Let's Talk Languages to be able to do this).

I am using the holidays listed in www.earthcalendar.net as it was the most complete calendar I could find, but I am sure there will be some holidays I will miss. Please feel free to add them, remember that this is a 100% interactive project.
